Aiming To Contribute To Snake Conservation!

Snakes are in serious trouble. Many of the world's snake species are at-risk of extinction! Sadly, for many snakes, it is already too late, as many species have already disappeared forever! A 2010 global study of snake populations from the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology in England, found that snake species were declining around the globe.

Snake Advocacy is an initiative created and run by Snake Advocate  - Matt Ellerbeck. Matt's preservation work has earned him both a Green Globe Nomination and an Award from the Cataraqui Conservation Foundation.

Many conservation organizations have recognized the importance of education and awareness as a tool to help endangered species. This includes the Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy (ARC) and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust.

As such, Matt Ellerbeck focuses his snake advocacy efforts largely on outreach education. His objective is to educate the general public about the threats that snake populations are facing, and providing information and how individuals can combat these threats. This includes habitat management, environmental stewardship, and informed decision making.

Matt also strives to alleviate the negative attitudes and fears that people have towards these misunderstood animals.

Due to Covid-19, all presentations are being offered online via platforms like Zoom. Visit the Contact Page to book now.
